Very tasty, sweet, quick, easy, beautiful and enjoyable! You'll be very happy when you try it! The idea was taken from an American website, and the rest was invented by my husband. I'm sure a lot of cooks on this site are making something similar, but I liked it so much that I took the liberty of sharing it.

Ingredients for croutons for breakfast:

  • Baton (slices) - 4 pcs
  • Cream cheese - 1 pc
  • Sugar (brown, you can also use regular, it will be delicious, but in a different way) - 4 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 pc
  • Milk - 4 tablespoon
  • Nutmeg
  • Spice (for coffee)
  • Strawberry (optional)

How to cook croutons for breakfast step by step with photos

Here's everything but the strawberries. I wanted them to be really fresh, so I had to run to the garden for them after the croutons were done.

In a bowl, we thoroughly mix melted cheese, brown sugar, nutmeg, and coffee seasoning.

In another bowl, we mix the egg and milk together.

Spread each slice of loaf on one side with the sugar-cheese mixture.

Stack the smeared slices in pairs. We have two covered sandwiches.

Dip our sandwiches in the egg and milk mixture, then coat both sides and sides well.

Fry both sides in hot oil until browned, pouring the rest of the egg-milk mixture on the croutons.

Put ready croutons on small plates, cut them as on a picture and decorate with a strawberry. You can do it without strawberries (I did it the first time), but when I tried it with strawberries the taste was so different! There was a nice, subtle sourness. Such a treat!
