Ingredients for French Toast:

  • Bread (Slices, I have 2 rye and wheat ones for me and 2 wheat ones for my daughter) - 4 pcs
  • Chicken egg - 1 pc
  • Egg white - 1 pc
  • Vanillin - to taste
  • Starch (corn starch according to the recipe, mine was potato starch) - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk (It's not so easy with milk.) - 80 g
  • Cherries (I had frozen) - 100 g
  • Ricotta (in the original, I have unleavened fat homogeneous country cottage cheese) - 80 g
  • Cinnamon - to taste
  • Sugar (or to taste) - 6 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil (for greasing the molds, I have a mix of butter and oil)

How to cook French toast step by step with photos

Mix ricotta or cottage cheese with sugar (I had 1 tsp. L) and vanilla and spread on 2 slices of bread

Cover with remaining bread and cut diagonally

Mix the egg, egg white and 1teaspoon of sugar, lightly beat, pour this mixture on the bread and let it soak for 3 minutes.

Spread the bread on a greased griddle and place it in a preheated 180 degrees oven for 20-25 minutes

We mix milk with cinnamon, sugar and starch, add cherries and put to boil. Here is where the problem happened - the milk curdled, so I had to pour it all out and make a cherry "cherry sourdough" with water.

Our toast is ready
