Ingredients for pumpkin croutons:


  • Pumpkin (puree) - 1 tablespoon
  • Milk - 0.5 glass
  • Chicken egg - 2 pcs
  • Sugar - 1 tablepoon
  • Bread - 8 slices.
  • Vanilla sugar - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 0.5 teaspoon
  • Nutmeg (on the tip of a knife)
  • Ginger (on the tip of a knife)
  • Vegetable oil (to grease the tray) - 1.5 tablespoon

How to cook pumpkin croutons step by step with photos


We'll need pumpkin puree. I had it already made (always have a starter in the fridge during pumpkin season). And to make it peel the pumpkin, cut it into slices, put it in a heat-resistant form and baked in the oven for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees. Let cool, then puree with a blender. Let's proceed with the croutons. In a bowl (it is advisable to take a bowl in which it will be convenient to dip the bread slices) mix the milk, pumpkin puree, eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar and all the spices. Mix well with a whisk.

Dip the slices of bread in the egg-pumpkin mixture on both sides.

Put it on a baking tray greased with oil and put it in a preheated 180 degrees oven.

Cook until golden crust. Take croutons out of the oven, dip them once more in egg and pumpkin mixture and put them on a baking tray again, but already the other side. Then put them back in the oven until golden brown.
