Ingredients for Toasted Pears with Blue Cheese:

  • Pear - 2 pcs
  • Bread (5-6 slices of rye bread.) - 5 slices.
  • Cheese (Cheese with mold.)
  • Lime (You can substitute with lemon.) - 1 pc
  • Almonds (Walnuts are better, they are easier to grind.) - 30 g
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Olive oil - 4 tablespoon

How to cook croutons with pear and blue cheese step by step with photos

In a mortar, grind nuts, garlic, pinch of salt and 3 tablespoon of olive oil into a paste. Spread the nut paste evenly on the bread. Place the bread on a baking tray and put it in a preheated oven preheated to 180°C. Leave in oven for 10 mins. Let cool slightly.

While the croutons are cooking, slice the pears lengthwise into 5-7 mm thick slices, cut out the core with the seeds. Put pears in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, the juice of half a lime, a little salt, mix gently.

Grill pears on both sides on red-hot grill pan until distinctive dark streaks appear (2 to 3 minutes per side).

Place pear slices on croutons, crumble cheese on top.
