The recipe for this dish was posted on the site in 2009 by user Ronja under the title "Egyptian Sandwiches", and illustrated by me as part of the "Coloring pages". It turned out very tasty, but I reduced the quantity of ingredients and used tomato instead of cucumber for decoration. The cottage cheese was a little dry, so I added a teaspoon of plain natural yogurt for easy spreading. Thanks to the author!!!

Ingredients for sandwiches "Egyptian":

  • Baguette - 1 pc
  • Cheese cheese (not grainy and not too dry) - 200 g
  • Pepper mixture (powdered) - to taste
  • Salt - to taste
  • Yogurt (natural, no additives) - 1 teaspoon
  • Tomato (or cucumber for decoration) - 1 pc
  • Greens (I have dill) - 1 bunch.
  • Garlic - 1-2 clove

How to cook sandwiches "egyptian" step by step with photos

Slice a baguette and fry it in a heated frying pan with a little oil. You can also toast the baguette in the oven or use a toaster.

Mash the cottage cheese with a fork, season with salt and pepper to taste. Add chopped greens. If the mass is dry, you can add some natural yogurt without any additives and mix everything well.

Rub each toasted slice of bread with garlic and place the cottage cheese mixture on top.

Garnish with a slice of tomato (or cucumber) and you're good to go!!! The author also suggests experimenting with feta, feta cheese, adding olives, shrimp and celery, but we liked it very much in the original version.
