For a long time I was hesitant to post this simple recipe, but today, after enjoying this yummy treat, I realized: it's worth it!!! This is our favorite recipe, we eat these delicious and healthy sandwiches in any quantity and at any time (just not before work, garlic... after all). And during the flu season it's the best thing ever! This recipe is dedicated to all lovers of spicy and garlicky!

Ingredients for sandwiches with garlic, tomato and herbs:


  • Bread (Any kind of black bread or bran bread. Very tasty with "Borodino". I have my own, whole wheat, per s-v-e-t-l-i-k's recipe.) - 4 slices.
  • Garlic (3-4 cloves per four sandwiches) - 3 clove
  • Tomato (One large tomato. I have 2, since.к. just little ones.) - 1 pc
  • Mayonnaise
  • Greens (Any greens to taste. )
  • Salt (To taste)

How to cook garlic, tomato and herbs sandwiches step by step with photos


Here's our pick of the ingredients you'll need. If we use Lenten mayonnaise, the sandwiches are perfect for Lent.

Cut the garlic in small pieces (I like it best) or put it through a garlic slicer.

Spread the garlic on our slices of bread.

Slice the tomato. The tomato should preferably not be too juicy, so that the juice does not run out.

Then gently place the tomato slices on the garlic. You can put some salt and pepper on it. I sometimes do this when I'm craving something spicy.

Sprinkle mayonnaise on each sandwich.

Sprinkle with greens. I had parsley, I also use dill, celery, basil. You can cut each sandwich in two parts for convenience.

Make some tea or coffee and enjoy!!! P.S. You can let the sandwiches stand in the fridge for a while. Then they can soak in the juice of the tomato and become even more delicious. Or you can replace the tomatoes with bell peppers or even cucumbers. Also delicious, but with tomato it's perfect!
