Hearty & Winter Lard

Oh, girls (and boys), I don't know about anyone, but in winter my body sometimes demands something so caloric and nourishing.. So that even in the cold it doesn't freeze from the inside... And that's when my Khohlian roots wake up in me! And they begin to demand FAT!!!
Ingredients for a nourishing winter lard:

Lard
(pork)

500 g

Onions

2 pcs

Garlic
-
1 clove
-
Apple
(sour)

1 pc
-
Juniper
(berries)

3 units

Cloves
-
1 pc
-
Salt
-
Black pepper
-
Bread
(black bread, borodinsky or wholemeal bread - to serve)
How to cook nourishing winter lard step by step with photos

Cut fat in small cubes (I have earlier salted fat from freezer). Melt the lard over medium heat - it takes about 20 minutes... I have small scraps of fat - remove them with a slotted spoon. |

Cut onion, garlic and apple into small cubes. Add them to the pan with the melted fat (without croutons), add juniper berries and a clove bud. Stew for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Take lard off heat, season with salt and pepper and place in a ceramic or glass jar. Cool. |

Spread lard on bread, salt and pepper it... And you can take it out on the street... Skiing, skating, sledding or just playing snowballs!!!
