How to cook herring sandwiches on bread step by step with photos

The first thing to do is pickle the onions. Cut the red onions in half and slice one half lengthwise into long, thin "scales". Then put them in a bowl and pour some water and vinegar with sugar. Let stand while we prepare the following ingredients. Combine the sour cream with the horseradish. I have cream horseradish, it's not so "as mean as " and I put 3 tsp of horseradish to taste. Add the horseradish to your liking. Slice the apple into thin slices, removing the core. I cut an apple in half for 6 sandwiches, 4 thin slices each. To keep the apple slices from turning black, I sprinkled a little lemon juice on them. They retain their nice, fresh color in the sandwich. Another good idea is to cut the apple with a ceramic knife, it doesn't oxidize for a long time. From the herring you need to make a fillet, if you don't have it ready. The pieces should be cut for 1 bite.

For sandwiches I will use loaves TM Generous Buckwheat Bread. Any kind of breads would work: borodino; rye;... Preferably ones that are not too thin. The sour cream will soak them up a bit, they will be soft and easy to bite into in the sandwich.

Spread the sour cream and horseradish on the first layer. Lay out the apple slices. Put 4 pieces On top of the apples we put the herring fillets. Put pickled red onion on top and decorate sandwiches with dill.

Serve at once.

A soulful and beautiful appetizer, of course it is delicious.
