My sweetie wanted something nice and fancy with canned tuna. So I made it up as I went along. Appreciated. Enjoyed it. Quick, just the way I like it.

Ingredients for Hot Tuna Sandwiches:

  • Chicken Egg (boiled) - 4 units
  • Green onions - 2 pcs
  • Hard cheese (grated) - 150 g
  • Tuna (in oil or own juice) - 2 tins.
  • Bread (Rye or white loaf, or any bread that is dried out and needs resuscitation. Although, fresh bread will do just as well.)
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoon

How to cook hot tuna sandwiches step by step with photos

Prepare stuffing. Add eggs, chopped onion, a little salt to taste if you like.

Add the tuna (drain off the oil) and grated cheese (not all of it, 50 grams for sprinkles).

Prepare the bread. I had an airy black loaf, already dried out. Cut it into slices about 2 finger wide, cut out the crumb but leave at least half a centimeter around the edges.

Brush all sides of the bread with mayonnaise.

Fill the bread with the mixture of tuna, eggs and cheese. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.

And in the oven for 10 minutes. With the rest of the crumb if it fits on the baking tray. It makes great croutons.

It's a nutritious and delicious sandwich that just begs to be eaten by itself!
