Good both hot and cold. A great addition to a Lenten menu. A lot of people get hungry all the time during Lent (like my husband), so he makes these sandwiches with some Lenten soup for a filling meal.

Ingredients for lean hot sandwiches:


  • Bread (Grain) - 4 slices.
  • Pumpkin - 300 g
  • Mushrooms - 200 g
  • Sour cream (soy sour cream) - 3 tablespoon
  • brown sugar - 2 teaspoon
  • Wheat flour / Flour - 2 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Oregano
  • Salt
  • Olive oil (for frying)

How to cook Lenten Hot Sandwiches step by step with photos


Slice the bread slices diagonally. Fry on a frying pan with oil.

Dice pumpkin.

Sprinkle with flour.

Mix them all.

Fry in butter until soft.

Add sugar.

I used TM Mistral sugar.

Add chopped mushrooms.

Stir-fry for about 5 minutes. Add chopped garlic and oregano.

Then add sour cream and stir-fry for about another 5 minutes.

Salt.

Spread this mixture on fried slices of bread.

Bake in preheated oven until 200 degrees for 10 minutes.

Serve.

A sandwich like this.
