  • Chickpeas (boiled Mistral) - 200 g
  • Cream cheese - 3 tablespoon
  • Mustard - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1\2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper (freshly ground to taste)
  • Pickled cucumber - 1 unit
  • Petiole celery (small) - 1 pc
  • Green onions (feathers) - 5 units
  • Sea cabbage (dry, shredded) - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Bread
  • Tomato
  • Salad leaves / Lettuce (leafy)

How to cook a chickpea sandwich "ocean" step by step with photos


Soak chickpeas and cook as directed on package. Drain and leave a little broth. Let the chickpeas cool.

Make a sauce by mixing cream cheese, mustard, lemon juice and pepper.

Chop cucumber, celery and spring onions.

In a food processor (using an immersion blender is a bit of a hassle) chop the cooled chickpeas, adding more broth so the puree is not too runny. Add the sauce and stir to combine.

Add chopped onion, celery and cucumber to the resulting mixture. Stir. Taste. Salt if necessary. Slice the bread and put the lettuce and tomato slices on it. Sprinkle chickpea paste on top and sprinkle with shredded seaweed. You can use nori.
