  • Ginger (pickled) - 50 g
  • Baguette - 7 slices.
  • Cream cheese (soft) - 7 teaspoon
  • Green onions - to taste

How to cook ginger sandwiches "pink flamingo" step by step with photos


Minimum ingredients required. The consumption of products is very relative; you can spread the cheese very lightly and put a lot of ginger. You can do the opposite - a thick layer of cheese and two or three slices of ginger. I like the taste of pickled ginger, so here's a variation on the ratio I do - and it's VERY tasty! Soft cheeses can be made with any type of filling - ham or mushroom, I have the classic. Instead of green onions, you can add dill or cilantro, whichever you prefer.

Chop the onions finely. Cut the baguette into 1-1.5 cm thick slices. Squeeze out the pickled ginger from the marinade and cut into strips. The ginger can also be arranged in slices, but sliced is more convenient.

Spread cheese on slices of bread, spread evenly, put strips of ginger on the cheese and sprinkle with greens.

I've made these sandwiches on toast and on black bread, but I like them this way the most, they are more tender.

Place on a dish to serve, decorate to your liking. Great with your morning coffee - really invigorating, and quite filling. It's a great sandwich for a celebration table or a picnic. The name came to mind the first time I made them. The idea for these sandwiches was shared with me by my childhood friend Svetika from Cherepovets, for which I am immensely grateful!
