Yesterday at the newsstand, I was flipping through one of the food pamphlets, and I saw there the decoration of a salad "with sheep" made of cauliflower. And as you know, the lamb is the symbol of the coming year. I liked the idea, so I decided to try it out.) But I made not a salad (the salad was too banal - tomatoes and hard cheese), but sandwiches as a snack. Of course, there's nothing new in my sandwich appetizer either. But I hope that someone will like it.

Ingredients for the snack-symbol of the year "lamb":


  • Bread (loaf or toast bread and optionally white or black) - 1 unit.
  • Canned fish (natural sardine) - 1 jar.
  • Cream cheese (soft, creamy) - 150 g
  • Chicken egg (hard boiled) - 3 pcs
  • Cherry tomatoes (approx.) - 200 g
  • Hard cheese (approx.) - 130 g
  • Greens (onions, dill, parsley - a few sprigs each)
  • Mayonnaise (to taste)
  • cauliflower (one floret per sandwich)
  • Black olives (one piece per sandwich )

How to cook snack-symbol of the year "sheep" step by step with photos


I start by making "the lambs". If the cauliflower is fresh, break it up into florets. Then boil the cabbage (but not overcook it) in any convenient way (I did it in the microwave) or steam it. From the olives we make "The head". I cut the olive in half (not cut all the way through) and "I hooked" on the cabbage inflorescence. п. с. I didn't buy the magazine, but I remember that the recipe definitely didn't have a master class on how to make the sheep. It was written briefly, like cabbage is the sheep, olives are the head. And that the eyes "are drawn" with mayonnaise. And the photo is not colored and somewhat blind to properly see the assembly. So I did as I did. But before the New Year there is still time to practice))))

Prepare the rest of the ingredients: 1. Mix sardines (canned - in its own juice), soft melted cream cheese and hard-boiled eggs. (You can simply mix everything with a fork, kneading the eggs and sardines.) 2. Cut cherries into rings. 3. Chop and mix the herbs. 4. Grate the cheese.

Using a notcher (or a serving ring), cut the bread into . п. с. I made sandwiches partly with white bread and partly with Borodino.

Assemble the sandwiches. First, spread the sardine and cheese and egg mixture on the bread. Spread mayonnaise on top (I like "olive", You can use another one - to your taste).

Arrange the cherry slices and spread the mayonnaise on top.

Sprinkle with grated cheese. Then you can add a little mayonnaise again. And sprinkle with greens.

Transfer the sandwiches to a platter and on each sandwich carefully our "sheep". Put mayonnaise on the dots-"eyes".

Sandwiches are the symbol of the year "sheep" are ready to go. You may serve them on the table.
