Tartine Baby Jerome
That was almost 40 years ago... A young French chef from Cannes fell in love with a pretty Dutch girl. He fell in love with her so much that he moved to her hometown of Valkenschwart. He opened a restaurant"l"Orangerie". His name was Jerome Le Fevre. Inspired by his beautiful muse Anneke, he devised a delicious appetizer that was served at his restaurant. This signature lunchtime appetizer was an incredible success. But since the chef was small in stature, he was affectionately known as "Geromoke" т. е."little Jerome". This was later also the name of the appetizer - small hot sandwiches (tartines) with brie cheese and nuts. That's the name of the tartine to this day. To this day, Jerome and his beloved Anneke live in this city. This restaurant still exists, and the tartine is still very popular there.
