I found this recipe a long time ago on a site of a young French chef. I make this toast at least once in fig season. Very tasty with a glass of cold white on the day off. Gourmet appetizer, made in minutes.

Ingredients for tartine with caramelized onions, cheese and figs:

  • Baguette - 3 slices.
  • Figs - 3 pcs
  • Goat cheese (or any other soft) - 100 g
  • Garlic - 0.5 clove
  • White onion - 1 pc
  • Ham (raw meat ) - 3 slice.
  • Creme (balsamic ) - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoon
  • Sugar (pinches)

How to cook tartine with caramelized onions, cheese and figs step by step with photos

Wash and dry figs and cut into four pieces. Grill them on a grill pan for a few minutes on both sides.

Rub each slice of bread lightly with garlic.

Saute the onion sliced in half rings in olive oil. When onions are golden add water to soften. At the end of the cooking time add a little sugar to caramelize them. Let the onions cool and put them on toast.

Next place the goat cheese.

Tear the dried ham into small pieces, otherwise it will be inconvenient to eat the toasts.

Place figs on top, drizzle with balsamic cream, and drizzle a few drops of olive oil on each piece of toast.
