Delicate spicy dressing, crunchy bread, tomato, avocado, onion... Flavor... Mmmm... But how the nightingales were singing outside the window to the sound of rain when I took pictures! I guess that's why these photos were not very good - I couldn't focus :-))). I wanted to eat all this beauty right away! I got the idea from Sarsmith (LiveJournal).

Ingredients for warm avocado and tomato sandwiches:


  • Bread (rye) - 2 slices.
  • Tomato - 1 pc
  • Avocado - 0,5 piece
  • Garlic - 1-2 clove
  • Red onion (or any) - 1/4 Piece
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoon
  • Vinegar (Wine or apple or lemon juice)
  • Salt
  • Greens (basil, dill...)
  • Hard cheese (grated, I have Gouda) - 3-5 tablespoon

How to cook warm avocado and tomato sandwiches step by step with photos


Toast the bread slices in a toaster or on a griddle.

Slice tomatoes and avocado and arrange on bread.

Prepare the dressing: a few tablespoons of vegetable oil (ideally olive oil, of course), minced garlic, a few drops of wine vinegar or lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and chopped basil.

Decorate sandwiches with onions, drizzle with dressing and sprinkle with grated cheese. In a dry pan, put the lid on and keep on very low heat until the cheese melts.
