  • Ground meat (or prepared meatballs) - 200 g
  • Beans (dry) - 50/70 g
  • Potatoes - 150/200 g
  • White cabbage / Cabbage - 150/200 g
  • Mushrooms - 100/150 g
  • Carrots (medium) - 1 pc
  • Onions (medium) - 1 pc
  • Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Water (or broth) - 1,2 l
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Allspice - 2 pcs
  • Sweet pepper (dried, optional) - 1 tablespoon
  • Bay leaf - 2 pcs
  • Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoon

How to cook bean soup with meatballs and mushrooms step by step with photos


Prepare the necessary ingredients. The amount I gave for a two-liter pot of soup. Actually, for that amount of soup and need only a handful or a handful.

Soak the beans for 4 hours (or overnight). I took the black beans from TM Mistral. It looks beautiful in the soup and enhances its mushroom flavor. Soaked beans boiled for 1.5 hours. Simultaneously with adding the vegetables make a jam from onions, carrots, mushrooms in vegetable oil. Add tomato paste at the end. We add the beans and the sautéed potatoes after about 10-15 minutes after we have put the meatballs in. I also add peas, black pepper, oregano pepper, dried bell pepper, paprika, bay leaf. Simmer the soup for about 20 minutes.

The cabbage soup is ready. They're not super rich. But still very filling and delicious. Enjoy it!
