This is my first recipe on cookbook. Please do not judge ) I haven't made rassolnik in a long time, and on the balcony there was a jar of green tomatoes, rolled by my grandmother. I decided to improvise. It turned out very appetizing and delicious.

Ingredients for rassolnik with pickled green tomatoes:


  • Meat (beef) - 500 g
  • Potatoes - 2 pcs
  • Onions - 1 pc
  • Carrots - 1 pc
  • Passed tomatoes (Pickled green (Can be replaced with pickles)) - 6 tablespoon
  • Pearl grits - 5 tablespoon
  • Salt (To taste)
  • Black pepper (Ground)

How to cook rassolnik with pickled green tomatoes step by step with photos


Put meat and half an onion to boil on low heat for 30 minutes

While the meat is boiling finely chop the other half onion and grate the carrot

Fry onion and carrot in frying pan, add pickled tomatoes and stew for 5 minutes.

Take the boiled meat out of the pot, let it cool and cut it into pieces. Discard the onion

While the meat is cooling, strain the broth

Add sliced meat and barley to the pot. Cook over low heat for 20 minutes.

Add potatoes and simmer for 15 more minutes

Add onions, carrots and pickled tomatoes. Simmer for 5 more minutes. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Turn off the heat, put the lid on and let it stay for 10 minutes. Brine is ready, you can serve it with or without sour cream. Enjoy your meal 😊 thanks for your attention!
