Ingredients for soup under the cheese cap:


  • Shrimp (small) - 150 g
  • Red onion (medium) - 1/2 pc
  • Chinese cabbage (2 leaves, only the top part)
  • Green peas (canned) - 2 tablespoon
  • Tomatoes (small) - 2 pcs
  • Olive oil (or butter, to taste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
  • Hard cheese (grated) - 2 tablespoon
  • Corn starch - 1 teaspoon
  • Water (200ml glass, boiled or vegetable broth) - 1 glass
  • Spices (salt, zira, sweet paprika., pepper mix) - to taste
  • Cream - 2 tablespoon

How to cook soup under a cheese cap step by step with photos


Thaw small shrimp at room temperature, rinse, pour lemon juice and soy sauce (1 teaspoon each), add black pepper and very little salt.

Slice the onion into thin half rings. Pour the onion into the heated oil in a pan and stew over medium heat until soft and translucent (about 7 minutes).

Add finely chopped Chinese (Peking) cabbage and shrimp along with marinade and cream. Т Sauté for a few minutes more.

Dilute cornstarch in boiling water, add to the vegetables, add all the spices (be very careful with the salt, since the cheese is salty). Cook, stirring, for a minute, until the soup thickens slightly. If it gets too thick, add a little water. Turn off heat, stir in green peas.

Pour the soup into 2 tins (I have one tin, but there are 2 portions), top with the tomato slices and grated cheese, place in the preheated oven on the grill for 5-10 minutes.
