  • Sweet red pepper - 1 pc
  • Garlic - 2 clove
  • Sweet paprika (powdered) - 3 tablespoon
  • Tabasco (or red hot pepper - quarter tsp.l.) - 3-4 drops
  • bay leaf - 2 units
  • Black pepper
  • Greens
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Salt

How to cook Hungarian goulash soup step by step with photos


Prepare the meatballs: mince the garlic, grate or dice the pepper. The potatoes should be sliced in large chunks, the beef - in 2-3 cm small cubes, tomatoes should be put in boiling water for a couple of minutes, skinned and the flesh should be mashed (or canned), the onion should be chopped in small cubes. Heat oil in a cauldron and lightly fry on all sides of the beef pieces - just seal the surface of the meat for juiciness. In a skillet, fry the onion until golden, pour in all the paprika and tabasco and stirring constantly, fry. The paprika burns quickly, so watch carefully. Add paprika and onion to the cauldron, pour boiling water over the pan and add the sauce to the cauldron. Pour boiling water to evenly cover the meat. Stirring from time to time, simmer the beef for about 2 hours on low heat. If water evaporates, top up to desired level. Add half a liter of water and put the potatoes and peppers. Cook for about 10 minutes. Then put the tomatoes, simmer for 5 minutes, taste for pepper-salt, add what you need, then garlic, herbs and bay leaves and leave for another 3 minutes. Take out the bayroot, let stand for half an hour.
